Importing data from your previous system

Importing data from SimplePractice

Log into your SimplePractice account and navigate to Settings > Practice > Data Export.

Once there, click on the "Start Export" button on the top right of the page. This will bring up a dialog box where you can select which data you'd like to export. Select "All clients in the practice".

This will bring up another dialog box where you can select the type of data export you'd like to perform. Select "Complete".

Leave the password field checked and click on the "Export" button.

Generating your export will take a few minutes. You'll receive an email notification when the file is ready to download. After receiving this email, return to Settings > Practice > Data Export, where you'll see a link to download the file to your computer

Your data export's password will be displayed on this page as well. Copy it somewhere safe for now. You'll need it when you import your data to Practicepicnic. When importing the data into Practicepicnic, include this password in the Additional information text box.

On Practicepicnic > Settings > Import Data, upload the file that you downloaded. Select SimplePractice as the source and paste in the password into the Additional Information text box.

Importing data from TherapyNotes

To transfer your data from TherapyNotes to Practicepicnic, you'll need to first export your data from TherapyNotes and then import it into Practicepicnic.

Export your data from TherapyNotes

Click "Patients"

Click "Export Spreadsheet"

Click "Patient List"

This will download a file to your computer. You will use this file to import your data into Practicepicnic.

Import your data into Practicepicnic

Navigate to Settings > Import Data.

Upload the file that you downloaded from TherapyNotes. Make sure to select "TherapyNotes" under Where are you importing data from?.

You can leave the Additional Information field blank.

Click Import Data.

That's it! Importing will take a few hours. You'll receive an email notification when the import is complete.

Importing data from TheraNest

To transfer your data from TheraNest to Practicepicnic, you'll need to first export your data from TheraNest and then import it into Practicepicnic.

Export your data from TheraNest

Navigate to Clients.

Select All under Show Columns.

Now, click this icon.

Click Download CSV

This will download a file to your computer. You will use this file to import your data into Practicepicnic.

Import your data into Practicepicnic

Navigate to Settings > Import Data.

Upload the file that you downloaded from TheraNest. Make sure to select "TheraNest" under Where are you importing data from?.

You can leave the Additional Information field blank.

Click Import Data.

That's it! Importing will take a few hours. You'll receive an email notification when the import is complete.

Importing data from Counsol

To transfer your data from CounSol to Practicepicnic, you'll need to first export your data from CounSol and then import it into Practicepicnic.

Export your data from CounSol

Select the Clients icon.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Active Clients - List Download Zip/CSV link.

Select the client data you'd like transferred to Practicepicnic. We recommend checking all the fields.

Click the List Download Zip/CSV button. This will download a file to your computer. You will use this file to import your data into Practicepicnic.

Import your data into Practicepicnic

Navigate to Settings > Import Data.

Upload the file that you downloaded from CounSol. Make sure to select "CounSol" under Where are you importing data from?.

You can leave the Additional Information field blank.

Click Import Data.

That's it! Importing will take a few hours. You'll receive an email notification when the import is complete.

Importing data from ChiroTouch

First, export the patient list from ChiroTouch. To export your patient list from ChiroTouch, please follow these steps:

  1. In Billing Statement & Reports, click on the Data Export tab
  2. On the left-hand side, select Patient Data (third option down)
  3. In the Options menu:
    • Select Patient Inactive
    • Select the FALSE toggle
    • Click ADD
  4. Click EXPORT on the right
  5. In the window that pops up:
    • Name the file "Active Patients"
    • Click Open to save the list of active patients to your computer

On Practicepicnic > Settings > Import Data, upload the file that you downloaded. Select Other as your source and under Additional Information, include the text "ChiroTouch".

Importing data from Charm EHR

Export the patient list from Charm EHR. Under the Patients area in Charm EHR, the Patient List report can be exported to CSV for importing into Jane by clicking on the More Options (…) icon.

On Practicepicnic > Settings > Import Data, upload the file that you downloaded. Select Other as your source and under Additional Information, include the text "Charm EHR".
